![]() After the Meteor destroyed the rift zone around The Zero Point sphere, it caused the frozen Zero Point's explosion to unfreeze (due to The Scientist stopping the explosion in the beginning of Season X) and created a whirlpool which contained everything into. While most of their old stomping grounds have disappeared after a tsunami, Galactus' invasion, and the island's time-traveling, a few locales still call back to the groups. One such remnant of the Ghost team still stands rather prominently at the northwestern corner of the island. What's today called Sharky Shell was once simply named The Shark, but its signature rock formation remains unmissable. You just maybe didn't know it's a Ghost Ruins location. Head there in a game mode of your choice to mark off a third of this Week 11 challenge. Shadow Ruins Location The pool near Retail Row counts as Shadow Ruins.įortunately, the game doesn't require you to visit all three spots in the same round, because the other locations are on the opposite side of the map. To find it, drop near the pool to the northeast of Retail Row. It's much less flashy than its Ghost counterpart, but it counts all the same. Once you're close enough to it, your challenge will update with 2/3 locations visited. In addition to those two spots, you'll also want to visit the place of interest named **REDACTED**. It's a bunker just off of Catty Corner which players are unable to enter. The lore reasons for this bunker being associated with either Ghost or Shadow have stumped players, but it's part of the challenge all the same. Make time for the **Redacted** bunker to complete this challenge. If you'd rather see all three locations on the map, we've got that too. Remember that this is an Epic Quest, so you'll need to visit all three spots yourself. Splitting up a Duos or Squads team won't get it done like it would if it were a Legendary Quest. Google considered buying Epic Games as the companies sparred over Epic’s Fortnite Android app, according to newly unsealed court filings. This makes me believe we will be getting a teaser with a message everyday that starts completely redacted and get decyphered over time. Last night, Google lifted some of its redactions in Epic’s antitrust complaint against Google, which Epic amended and refiled last month. Here’s Epic’s description of the situation: The complaint still omits many details about Google’s dealings with specific companies, but the new details reflect internal Google communications about competition on the Android platform.Įpic claims Google was threatened by its plans to sidestep Google’s official Play Store commission by distributing Fortnite through other channels, and in an unredacted segment, it quotes an internal Google document calling Epic’s plans a “contagion” threatening Google. Google has gone so far as to share its monopoly profits with business partners to secure their agreement to fence out competition, has developed a series of internal projects to address the “contagion” it perceived from efforts by Epic and others to offer consumers and developers competitive alternatives, and has even contemplated buying some or all of Epic to squelch this threat. The internal messages discussing that possibility remain secret, and the complaint doesn’t indicate that Google ever reached out to Epic with these plans. ![]() ![]() In a tweet after this article’s publication, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney said the plan “was unbeknownst to us at the time.” It also doesn’t give a timeframe for the discussion - although it presumably happened after Epic started its plans to launch Fortnite on Android in 2018. In a comment to The Verge, a Google spokesperson cast doubt on Epic’s interpretation of events. “Epic’s lawsuit is baseless and mischaracterizes our business conversations. #Fortnite message redacted androidĪndroid provides more choices in mobile devices for developers and consumers,” the spokesperson said. This was unbeknownst to us at the time, and because of the court’s protective order we’re just finding out now about Google’s consideration of buying Epic to shut down our efforts to compete with Google Play. Tim Sweeney August 6, 2021Įpic has also alleged that Google offered it a “special deal” to launch Fortnite on the Play Store. In another unsealed section, the complaint describes a Google Play manager reaching out to Epic about its plans to sideload Fortnite - and apparently admitting that sideloading is a “frankly abysmal” experience in the process.
